Clients are demanding more and more from their law firms. One of the more recent innovations that have been demanded by more and more clients is the production of invoices in an electronic format.
Electronic Invoices can be sent in seconds by a variety of methods such as e-mail and file transfers. Additionally, they provide clients with the ability to retrieve invoice data and place it into a format that allows analysis.
Orion first introduced the Electronic Billing module in 1995. Since then we have improved the flexibility and user interface to meet the growing demand of your clients for format and content. Our Electronic Billing option can be configured to meet the requirements of virtually any of your clients. We have already developed several hundred formats that are currently being utilized by Orion users including the latest LEDES requirements.
Template Design
Each of your clients requiring Electronic Billing will probably require a different file format. With Orion's unique template designer you can use one program to fulfill all of your client's requests. All you do is create a template, give it a name and assign it to the Clients that require it. You can have as many different templates as you need.
Data Entry
You will probably find that each client requires different types of information to be included in the invoices. Reference numbers, adjuster names and loss dates are just a few examples. With Orion, you can easily custom design an entry screen and output file to match each client's requirements. By linking your design to a template, Orion will prompt you for all the necessary information.
Bill Processing
Creating the electronic bills is a simple matter of selecting the client and tagging the matters to be billed. Orion will automatically create the necessary files and provide you with a summary report. If you wish, a hard copy of the invoice can be printed using any format created in the Billing and A/R program.
